Had a really lovely day today.
The morning was spent dealing with 4 kilos of apples given to me. Half were choppped and frozen for crumbles and the other half I made into apple and chilli jelly with the peel, cores etc cooking slowly to make apple butter.
Then I made a double flapjack - 500g of oats. I had hoped this would last all week but half of it has already been eaten - two hungry men!!
Today was roast chicken dinner with stuffing and all the trimmings.
Which we ate outside.
The weather was gorgeous this afternoon. We ate lunch in the sun - even had to use sun cream - MOH had half a bottle of wine. The three of us sat and talked, then MOH and my son - 16 - went for a drive round the garden, He is going to start taking proper lessons soon.
Then MOH and I sat in the sun with a cup of tea and had a little siesta.
I hope your day was as nice as mine.

Sounds like a glorious day. Mmmmmmm like the sound of apple and chilli jelly. Would love that recipe! I've been a bit grumpy today - not the best of days. Never mind.
Hope you have an equally lovely week.
The jelly was not a great success taste wise - it has set brilliantly but not enough chilli. I am going to recook it with more chilli and try again. WIll post the recipe later.

Sorry to hear that you didn't get away - you kept very busy !
We used to enjoy eating outside in the autumn / winter sun when we lived in Spain too.
My 17 year old takes her driving test Dec 1st - I don't drive so her Taxi duties will be very useful !!!
How lovely to be eating outside in October ... that's what I love most about holidaying in France each year ... every single meal is eaten outside (admittedly in August). My son is taking his test in December too ... fingers crossed all round but then the worrying really starts!!!!
Love Kathy xxx
I envy you with the sunshine!!! I love to eat outdoors. Ive spotted an apple tree that doesnt belong to any body so I was planning on some Apple Chutney. xxxxx
