On Sunday evening we had a small storm, lots of wind, dark sky and rumbles of thunder. We saw just one flash of lightening in the distance. It all lasted about 30 minutes.
Look at what happened with the one lightening flash.....

It took the full force of the lightening strike
The area looked just like a bomb had gone off ..
It's a good job that it was raining heavily at the time, so there were not many people in the park!!!!

Surely the weather can't have changed so suddenly. It was tropical when we were over in France at the weekend! Sue also please look at the strange creature on my post today. As a inhabitant of France you're my best hope of identifying it!
The weather has been and is still wonderful- just like summer, but the forecast was for a storm on Saturday and Sunday evening, thankfully it did not last long. My son was at the Printemps Bourges musice festival at the weekend and said the weather was beautiful nearly all weekend.

So true. that is what we said today when we saw it. the park is now closed but there were lotas of people taking pictures this afternoon. I think it has become a tourist attraction :)

Wow - that was some lightening. My village was struck when I was about 10 and I'll never forget the noise. To this day I'm scared of thunderstorms. Great photos btw.
Ah, the onset of summer. Luckily I've only been struck once, when we lost a few electrical things. Otherwise I've had cows killed in front of the house, and a friend had his pigeon tower blown apart.
By the way. I'm still fascinated by your peanut butter making. Where do you get your peanuts? What type do you use? How does the process work? At the moment I buy mine from Leclerc, but I'd love a go at making my own!
My word, that is such different weather to ours here in Brittany.
Blimey! That went with a bang. We had a freak storm in South Yorkshire at the weekend - Thunder, hail flash floods etc, but I muissed it as we had gone to North Yorkshire. Seems to be the price you pay for a bit of hot weather. x
