Miss - RIP

Her favourite sunbathing position

This morning at 9 o'clock my beautiful, loyal and wonderful dog died.
She has been with us since we moved into this house - nearly 12 years. We got her from the SPA  ( French RSPCA) and they think she was about 18months old.
Both the boys grew up with her and she has always been there, following me around, checking where I was and looking for cuddles and love.
She had not been 100% for a while, but the vet said it was just old age. Then 5 weeks ago she was bitten by a snake on her nose. Amazingly she got through this, but I was warned the poison may do lasting damage.
I don't know what she died from, but I was with her and that was very important to me. I hope she knew I was there.
We will bury her in the garden tonight.
The house will not be the same

How very sad. She looks like a dark version of our young Monty. Lovely looking girl.

So sorry to hear your sad news, dogs are such loyal creatures and easily become a focal part of the family, I know you are going to miss her a great deal.

So sorry to hear of your loss. Animals hold a special place in our hearts and it is unbelievably hard when they die.

Pet lovers every where, feel your pain. I,too, lost a very long time friend this past year, and it does take a while to get over it.We'll miss them, but they live on in our hearts and memories.

Thank you so much for your kind words.
I had a long chat with my younger son tonight. He was just 4 when Miss came to live with us and he is feeling it at the mopment.
As I write him and his Dad are digging in the back garden.

Oh MY GOSH,
I just tumbled on your blog from reading Legend in Lunchtime. What a post to read in my first visit to your blog.
How sad I am for you, the passing of your beautiful 4 legged companion is truly heartbreaking, no matter how much one expects it.
I have 2 16 year old Bichon Frises and I dread the inevitable.
My best wishes to you, I know you'll be grieving your loss for some time to come.
